As a NGO to build a SSEAYP Community within ASEAN and Japan with a vision in contributing to developing ties and understanding for co-existence among nations and to strengthening peace, harmony and prosperity in the world. The Alumni Associations together agree to establish the SI Charter in 1987. The Charter clearly spell out the AA’s Roles in building a strong SI. For example, the AA leaders through COP (Council of President and as Community of Practices) and mailing list called COPML for sharing of information on member database, best alumni management practices. There had been a Guidelines issued by SI Secretariat / IYEO including on Fund transfer instructions for SI Memorial fund, Organisation of SIGA and re-union during SSEAYP. The compilation of this SI Web site is another illustration that how synergy among AAs could help SI in realising the SI vision and goals in the expended SSEAYP Community.
