| The 12th Biennial General Meeting (BGM) of the SSEAYP International Singapore (SIS) will be held on 26 December 2004 (Sunday), 4pm. The venue will be announced once confirmed. You might be wondering why our BGM is not held as conventionally during the reunion on board Ms Nippon Maru? It’s been a real challenge to fit in our BGM during the reunion dinner on board Ms Nippon Maru as the time allotted for pys to stay on board is really short. With tight security and the need to disembark the ship by 10pm, the SIS executive board would like to have a change in venue. The agenda and the notice for the BGM will be sent to all members and nominations for candidates will be opened and announced in our website. So look out for more details. |

Our new SIS LogoSPY batch 1988, Ng Kim Hwee, is the creative brains behind this logo. It was picked as the best logo that represents our SIS in the logo competition organized in conjunction with the 30th Anniversary of SSEAYP. The logo combines sharp edges and curves, as part of the multi-faceted approach of the SSEAYP in engendering closer ties and understanding among the youths of Southeast Asia. The circle surrounding the figures in the center encapsulates the unity and solidarity that the SSEAYP hopes to bring, anchoring the youths from diverse backgrounds into the larger family of regional harmony and co-operation where they learn, exchange and build bridges into one another's world. |
|
The three figures pivoted at the center of the logo emphasize that youths are at the center of this programme and they point to a better future ahead with clarity and vision. Together they form the letters SIS, which stand for SSEAYP International Singapore The logo is in shades of blue; a color that spells the bright hopes that lie in our youths, as well as the sea of friendship that the ship will be steering in. |

A letter from our WebmasterDear Members, The SIS egroup mailing list was started from May 2004 as a means to reach out to members with email addresses, and who wish to be kept informed of the activities in the Alumni and SSEAYP. Till this date, we have 189 members who have subscribed to this mailing list. Thanks to all of you who supported this new initiative of the SIS Executive Board! The purpose of the mailing list is to act as another communication link between SIS and its members and to also allow members to maintain contact with each other. We have implemented a moderation system for messages posted to the mailing list to ensure that the messages posted are relevant to SSEAYP and of general interest to all members. We would really hope this mailing list works for all members, to get activities updates of SIS and SSEAYP, as well as to keep in contact with our brothers and sisters in SSEAYP. If you have any suggestions to make this better, please do let us know! Let's keep the SSEAYP spirit alive! To join the egroup, please send an email to: sis_notify@yahoo.com.sg. Thanks. Yours in SSEAYP, |
